Titled after the protagonist introduced in their fifth studio album, Trench, the visual album serves as the final chapter in the band's nearly decade-long conceptual series. Written by frontman Tyler Joseph and produced with frequent collaborator Paul Meany, Clancy was announced on February 29, 2024, following weeks of speculation. Four singles preceded the album's release: "Overcompensate", "Next Semester", "Backslide", and "The Craving". Clancy received positive reviews from critics.

Brewer’s Notes: Troy has not brewed in a long time, and I was giving him a hard time about coming up with something unique. Maybe, just maybe, he lost his talent. To prove me wrong he jumped on his little 3 BBL system and came up with Terps. What the heck are terps, you ask? Terps are aromatic molecules that enhance and complement the hop flavor and aromas used in this beer. This new style IPA has a unique, fruity and tropical flavor profile. When we tried it, we thought, “Wow, this needs to be a core style!”
